Werid clunk sound...

is coming from my friends D when he turn and accelrates he says he can feel it in the steering wheel also. He just had the balljoints done a few mounths ago so I don't think its that. MY D also had a simular problem with a clunk when turing but was the intermit steering shaft and didn't clunk when accelrating. So does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? Thanks, Oh and is D is a 98 5.2 4wd.
