'99 Durango Stalls

My wife’s ’99 Durango 5.9 stalled at a stop light last week and would not restart. Engine would crank with lots of power, but no start. Message on dash said “no buS”. It gets towed to the dealer where it promptly starts first-time. Then 2 days later, car will not start in my garage, after just being driven 5 minutes before. Latest was yesterday, pulling onto the freeway, it stalls-out on me, and then luckily fires up again by itself without my having to pull over.

I drove it straight to a reliable independent shop (it cut-out again on the short drive over there), where it sits right now. The mechanics were able to reproduce the problem while driving it, and they tell me that it is “electrical”, in that there is intermittently no spark at the plugs. Of course continuing diagnosis could take many hours of expense, since the problem is not always present.

Apparently, there have been no service–bulletins directly related to this problem. Have any of you good people experienced anything like this, or have you heard of a similar problem?
