Looking over the map and reviewing your directions and the ones I hunted down,
it would appear that overall, Donaldson Park is on the otherside of a River and
to reach it, you can take your directions which take you around the river on the
right side -- Or my mapquest directions which take you around the left side since
their is no direct road/bridge to Donaldson from Route (18) which parallels the river.

The difference is, the Mapquest directions show that 2nd Ave appears closer if you
continue on RT 18 to RT-27 N ramp/CR-514/NJ-27/RARITAN AVE which you then hang a
Right on 2nd Ave and straight into the park..

Ahhhhh... in any case, either set of directions appears to get you there... :)'
