Re^3: '99 Durango Stalls

The independent shop ended up driving it to a local Dodge dealer, saying that only they could replace and flash the PCM. Apparently it then stalled on the freeway when the dealer mechanics tested it. Call this morning from the dealer is that their tests indicate a CENTRAL TIMER MODULE issue, an electrical "short" in association with the factory installed ANTI-THEFT device. It's a $1,000 fix, plus all the diagnostic work already done at the first shop ... ouch, and the part has to be ordered. No guarantee of a fix either, since the independent is saying that they had discovered the timer module issue, but that it was intermittent, and *possibly* there are other electrical shorts besides it.
I'll update this with an outcome.
