How do you know if you have a Performance Chip installed?

How do you know if you have a Performance Chip installed? Several people have mentioned that my D sounds "Throatier", and "More free breathing" than others they have heard. It also seems to have some fair get-up-and-go! I bought this 2001 PB SLT+ 4.7 D from a dealer who's manager had been tooling around in it. I am curious if they may have done anything to soup-it-up. Is there a way to tell?
