5.7L! About time.

This email is from a guy I knew in high school. It's in reply to my email asking him about the new Ram & future Durango. He's one of the Ram truck project managers at the St. Louis north Ram plant.

Wait for the 2003 model. We're going to retire the 5.9 and replace it with a 330HP/360TQ small block Hemi. It's about time. I'm transferring to a commercial truck project after this one.

We have to churn out six of the Hemi Rams for the snot nosed kids in the marketing department. They're gonna have a media test drive in April/May. Gee, no pressure there.

I'm not really familiar with the Durango project. Everything is so compartmentalized in here, it's like working on some top-secret gov't project. As far as I know, there aren't any plans to shoehorn the engine in the current Durango, and it's not even mentioned in the new Durango project. The people on the new Durango project seem to think the HO4.7L is good enough, however, it's still really early in the project timeline. We'll see.
