Last night I actually drove a bit with the D and had a chance to use the gages in real nite driving. I did not find the bleed through at all a problem and could easily see on the speedo and tach that my slightly tricked out R/T hauls azz quite well in the dark as well as in the daylight. I still may end up using a razor knife to 'blend' the old and new gage panels to get the dark info center and turn signal areas.
