All Ball Joints Shot 30k..Help

Took the 99D 5.2 to get aligned and tires rotated. Shop said they could not align the front end because the upper and lower ball joints and idler arm are all shot. I have made an appointment with dealer to get it fixed. Any suggestions or anything I should watch out for when I take it to dealer? Why did this happen so early? I do not 4x4 at all. Will it happen again at 60k? Thanks
