I think you'll be unimpressed with the increase you get by going to the 1.7s, considering the money and time you'll spend on them.  1.6 is the stock ratio, so changing to 1.6 RRs will only reduce flex and save you some moving weight and friction.  1.7s will give a slight performance increase but not a whole lot with the mods you have right now.

If you go to 1.7s you'll need either taller valve covers (the Mopar Performance ones, for example) or knock the baffles out of your stock ones.

My suggestion is to save your money and/or spend it elsewhere for now.  I wanted to do RRs on my Dak but after talking to a few people, realized it simply wouldn't be worth it.  With more work into the engine, maybe they would.
