They came compressed with no straps. Someone here called Rancho questioning ths a few months back and the reply was that since the shocks are not "gas charged", they didn't have to ship 'em "held compressed" like other shocks. The valving in the Ranchos works both on extension and compression. This allows them to operate either right side up or upside down. They are a completely sealed unit, so no special "pumping up" or bleeding of air in the fluid needs to be done. Just install and enjoy!Someone come install all this air line for me!!!!!!!!!!! :)
