If it's just a small trailer, under 2000 lbs including cargo, then not much to it. Just remember that it is there anytime you merge with other traffic (you need  a little more space to fit in), and take corners a little bit wider to avoid dragging the trailer over curbs.

If you have to back it up at all, that is when the fun starts for first time pullers. The steering will be reversed. If you want the trailer to go to the left, turn the wheel to the right. And, while you are concentrating on where the trailer is going, remember to pay attention to where the D is going as well.

Finally, make sure you balance the load. Roughly 60% of the weight infront of the axle, and 40% behind.
