Sounds like the caliper is hanging up on the adapter..

I'd take everything apart and put it all back together.. make sure all the sliding surfaces are clean and lubed with that special brake lube (my QS pads came with a tube), and that the caliper pins (the 7mm allen-head bolts) are properly installed....tom
