I own 2 2001 Dodge Durangos R/T's, both with a 5.9L (275hp). I have dual flow masters, ram chargers, and a mopar performance engine upgrade. I have 320 hp. 0-60 is 6.8 sec with a top (regulator removed w/ custom speedometer) of 163mph. 1/8 mile at 97 mph, 1/4 mile 118mph, 1/2 mile 127mph, and 1mile 144mph. Approximate room for top speed (163mph) is 1.11 milesThis thing really hauls. I have raced a tahoe before, acceleration isn't as great as a tahoe, seeing my R/T is all wheel drive. But I did beat it significantly in the end by 30 feet or so. Its a very strong racer with only $2000.00 in performance parts. I do beleive you COULD beat a stock R/T, I don't know. I never ran my R/T stock. Most of my mods. where done at the dealer the day I bought it for $39,550. Also, I have added other parts like intake hood, spoiler, fog lights, neon, radio systems, light covers, bra, and 22 in. rims. i dont know what size yours are, but the bigger the rims on my durango, the faster it goes. I am only 24 yrs . old and I would definitly take one of these over any other car, whether vette, saleen, you name it. I suggest you check one out when your looking for a new vehicle. Good luck on racing, sorry, I have to say this, but DODGE RULES!
Gene with the slow Dak R/T and slower Durango.
