Header gaskets

I installed the Mike Leach headers on my 2000 D. The right side heat shield stud was not trimmed down enough, and the pipe vibrates against it at around 2300 rpm. Since there is not enough clearance to fit a dremel tool, or a grinder down there, I plan on removing the headers, and would like to know if it is a must to change the gaskets when I replace the headers. Thanks for your help.
