I did the mod on Tuesday, June 19. Immediately my 5.9 started pinging. Never had pinging before and I use regular gas, 87 octane, not premium. I took the mod out on Wednesday, June 20, and the pinging went away. The only other mod I have so far is the IP Stage II intake. I was not going to pay 20 cents (or more) for premium gas for the small amount of performance gain. The total cost of the mod was $.49, but in the long run it would cost hundreds of dollars in increased gas prices. For me, there are other performance mods that would result in the same performance increase without having to upgrade to premium fuel.Just my .02
