With all due respect for the other opinions given, I have one of these and it has proved useful as an ASSIST to get out of snow and mud. Remember to double up around a tree and back to the D - slower but safer on an underpowered unit. The advantage of being able to use it front or back is a handy feature.
The 9000lb units are meant for heavy duty hauling in a real "stuck" situation. As an assist, or to move deadfall trees, the Warn 3500 ranks with a set of chains - better to have than not.
