2. You cannot use the 4WD at 65 MPH in the rain. Really, the only time you can use 4WD on the PT4WD is when the tires are easily able to slip (ie: snow, ice, offroad).
Personally, if I were you, I would opt for the FT4WD, simply because it means that you just don't have to think about it or worry about. You will always have the extra traction of 4WD, and you don't have to be concerned about damage if you put a PT4WD into 4WD when it isn't slippery enough. The potential cost of repairing/replacing the driveline will easily gobble up any savings on PT4WD vs. FT4WD.
I choose FT4WD, for this very reason. If I was willing to accept PT4WD, there was a D I could have bought off the lot. I insisted on FT4WD, so had to do a factory order.
