This is a hard question to answer because everyone see's it different. I prefer PT4WD and wouldn't buy a D any other way, My 99 is PT and my Wife's 2000 is PT. When I bought mine in Oct 98 I had a choice and went with the PT for a couple reasons....Less Weight (Better MPG), Less moving parts (Less that can go wrong, I have a hard time keeping up already) and last was, I feel if I'm driving and the truck decides to slip it probably means I'm driving to fast for the conditions in the first place, where the FT may hide that from you. I've see alot of SUV's get in trouble because people drive them in the rain, snow and ....... unsafely because they think they are invincible until they hit.

Another problem with the FT in the newer D's is you get FT4WD you get FT all the time, not even a option to put in 2wd.

I do alot of off roading, so in that way we are different. I have had my D since Oct 98 and have driven in all kinds of weather and I have never regretted buying PT over FT. If I had to do it again....well lets just say I would buy PT4WD, but I would not buy a D again (sorry guys).
