steering wheel audio controls

Hey everyone, I got got my FSM in the mail today, and in looking at it noticed that the audio controls on the steering wheel actually are only a number of different value resistors, of which the (factory) radio knows the values and activates the functions based on these values. Now...here is my question...does anyone know of a box that will convert these into a remote control signal that will control my blaupunkt radio? I can use a remote with the system, and i remember hearing of a box that could "Learn" the IR codes from a remote control, but I can't seem to find it anymore...Thanks!
