Re: synthetic swap of tranny fluid???

I'm not sure about the ATF+4 b/c my '99 takes ATF+3, but if the ATF+4 is Type 7176 ATF (look in your owner's manual under the fluid specs), the Redline C+ ATF will be compatible. I called the Redline Corporate number to inquire about mixing, and they said that it's no problem. You can only get about 5 to 6 qts of ATF out with each change. This is due to the torque converter having a rather large capacity, and it doesn't have a drain plug. Some places claim that they can pump it out to do a complete change (11 qts), but I'm very skeptical of the reliability of this process. I plan to do several changes over the next couple years to bring the Redline concentration up gradually. Also, the C+ ATF should be used in the transfer case. As for the differentials, I would recommend the Redline 75W90 Gear Oil, which already has the friction modifiers added.
All my mustang buddies run this stuff in their cars, and are very happy with it. I figured that if drag racers and NASCAR use it, it must be good stuff!!!
