Yep. You have mold my friend.
If it's the same problem I have, you will notice the smell when it rains or after washing. It will be very noticable with the defrost or air conditioning settings.
What I do is to spray liberal amounts of disinfectant into the fresh air intake near the wipers. Lysol or other mold killing spray works.
I think there is a good unscented spray available, but don't recall the brand.
Spray it good and then turn on the defrost and fan to pull it through.
Caution: Your interior will smell like whatever you spray for a few days, but it's better than that funky smell.
