I've had good luck with Rockford-Fosgate. I have a 400a4 in my S10 and can push it to full volume with no distortion. I am running Boston Pro 6.5 seperates in the front and a 10" Boston Competitor Sub System running off of an Eclipse head unit.

I have an Alpine V12 5 channel in the D and it seems to not be able to handle the higher volumes. I have Boston RM6 in the front and Boston RX67 in the rear. I have a JL Stealth box with a 10" JL sub running off of a Pioneer head unit. When I start to push the volume, it begins to sound hollow and I loose some of the bass.
I will probably replace the Alpine with a PPI or Fosgate in the future.
