In my other truck, I have a forged crank. When the engine was being built, the guy who did it says that's the way to go. That'll stand up to a lot of horsepower. For reference, I also have forged rods and pistons too...that's the strongest was to go. Aluminum is good for heads and intakes because of it's heat disperson properties, but it's too soft for bottom end applications.
