I've had my platinum thru mud, dust dirt & snow(almost got stuck a few times,too), I know I have heard trees scraping the side, but i can't find any real bad scratches. As long as I keep the windows clean the rest of it looks clean! (OK, that red made in northern New Mexico does show up quite a bit, but I just think of it as an abstract paint job!) I'd go with whatever color you want the most too. You'll only spend as much time keeping it clean as you want. I keep a bottle of wax in the D at all times. Just in case one of those trees does hit me. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but hey, I thought that was why she married me!
