Re^2: Power Inverters/Converters

I blew some kind of inline fuse on my aux power line. The fuse must be inline since no fuse in the fuse box next to the steering wheel or under the hood is blown. I would imagine there must be a fuse since you wouldn't want a wire to short out and cause a fire. Both aux outlets are on the same line.
My DC-AC converter was to blame. It also has a 30A built in fuse and built in fan. It's fuse is still good. It was $49 at the local KMart. I also tried it in the cigarette lighter outlet and also blew that fuse, which was easy to replace.

Does anyone know where the inline fuse is? I'd probably have to leave it at the dealer to fix this and don't want to be without my D...

BTW, most notebooks (laptops) are using 18-20V and many have proprietary plug outlets so a universal won't fit even if it has the right voltage. This allows the notebook computer makers to charge up to $200 for a $20 AC-DC adapter.
There are usually DC-DC auto adapters available. I got one for my gateway for $39 off of Ebay. Gateway wanted $100. It just so happens to work on my new Compaq as well...
