$0. 02 more. With a non D/C contract you have the option to have the repair performed at any ASE Certified shop. Benifit: car trouble on a sunday night or your away from a D/C dealership you can have the repair covered w/o having to worry about submitting a claim to try and get the repair refunded. As in the previous reply most of these companies will pay the service bill via their company credit card so the service facility will receive payment immediately.
