Hey Uncle:
I have one of each... almost.. My wife drives a 2000 Suburban and I have a 2000 Durango SLT Plus 4x4. While the D is zippy and smaller (much) than the Suburban, they each have features that really separate them from one another. Do I think a full-size D would ever be a Suburban killer? IMHO- No way! GM has done a lot of refining to the Suburbans that others are still trying to get right. Our Suburban is like having a land yacht and I could ride to the end of the world in it because it is so comfortable. The D, on the other hand, is much more fun to drive. Time will be the judge as to which one holds up the best!
