Transmission slipping at 42k

I have a 98 5.9L with the first major problem at 25k rear pinion bearing went out and now at 42k transmission slips out in 2nd gear and have to coast at slow speed to jerk into 3rd gear. Dealer had it initially last week for two days for "check engine" light on dash.

They cleared the code for transmission failure, test drove it and found nothing wrong told me to pick it up. Now two days later still no "check engine" light but dangerous to drive as transmission slips. Dealer needs another two days to check it out.

Any of you had experience with this?
