Also, extensive mods have to be done to run such high boost. The 5.9s have 9.3:1 and to lower that would require taking the thing apart, changing the pistons, etc.

If aftermarket parts were all hype, they wouldn't be used by some of the top racers out there. I know that some of them get paid to use the stuff, but many don't. I'm sure I could build my D to run the quarter in 11 seconds or less, but how many passes would I get? Probably not many and I sure wouldn't want to rely on it for a daily driver.

Maybe I missed it on the pages you sent me to, but were there any larger displacement engines built with such high boost?
