MSD issues solved, but not explained...

Okay, I sent out my MSD Offroad unit and the Blaster SS coil. For those of you not familar with my problem, I was using this unit just fine for about two months. Then one day it decided that it was going to give me problems starting. I would have to try up to 10 times to get it started. One day I was at a light and when I went to take off, the idle went down to around 400 and wouldn't change no matter how much gas I gave it. After about 10 seconds of this, it just kicked back in. When I hook the factory ignition up, I have no problems. I ran the factory setup for two weeks, no problem. I then hooked the MSD back up and it wouldn't start.

I contacted Autotronics and they said to send the unit in since it was only four months old. I also sent them the coil and all harnesses to be tested together. They had it for over a week and then sent me a box. In the box was the harness that I modified for my installation, a new MSD Offroad unit and new coil. There were two pieces of paper. One said there was no problem with the MSD or coil. The other said that they were shipping me new as "Customer Goodwill." I installed them and there is no problem starting up the D. I'll know after a few days whether it is really working or not. I have installed many MSD units over the years and never had this problem. Also, the unit was working fine for two months. There had to be something wrong.

Hmmm...
