Dodge Durango Forum II

Being an ex-computer maintenance person myself I know what you mean.

And it only gets worse ever year as more businesses depend on their computer "always" being up!

In our case the problem was "supposedly" being caused by a different site, sharing the same server we're on, that was running a cgi script that hogged up all the available program resources. Thus any other cgi scripts/programs, such as our own forum software which is a C++ cgi script, were having problems getting the resources required to operate. If you were just visiting one of our normal web pages, everything worked fine, by none of the scripts (forum II, performance forum, chat room, etc.) were functioning properly!

Point is, as all of you out there in DOC land are aware, this sort of thing seems to be happening much too regularly on what's suppose to be a professional web hosting service. Yes, between problems our current setup works great, but when things go wrong, the 24/7 tech support we're getting trying to resolve the issue, especially when it's a weekend, is really poor!

Also, if you look at the overall history of problems since we moved to this particular service back in March, it doesn't present a good picture. We've been averaging at least 48 hrs. of problem time each month and that works out to only a 92.6% uptime rate for our site. In an industry where anything less than 96% is considered totally unacceptable, we're way off the mark! The thing is digiweb, our current service provider, was aware of this and upgraded all their servers, routers and associated equipment starting back in June (remember when they moved our site and all the hassle involved) and informed me they were done with our portion on the 26th of June (right about the time of DRMR). For a while it seemed they'd got everything squared away and our site was humming along just fine, but after this weekend and some problems we had weekend before last, it sure seems to me they've still got the same problems!

As Herman pointed out we're looking for something more reliable, but we want someone with a "verifiable" history of solid performance and support, in a price range the club can afford, before we commit to moving the site again.
