1998 Durango Knocking Sound

Lst weekend I was down at Carmel and while driving at somewhat slow speed,I started to hear a knocking coming from the engine compartment. The sound appears to be the sound heard if you were low in oil or you have loose rods in the engine. Like the tapping sound of the pistons, I guess.

Has anyone had this problem? Heard of it? Know about it? Solve it?

I just read someone referred to TSB 09-05-00. Does this apply to the 980 Durango?

My Durango has a little over 5,550 miles. Yes, I'm on a plane too much.
