mileage and A/C statistics on road trip

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd fill y'all in with the 2k D w/5.9 ft4wd and the twin freezers! for all of you having problems with your a/c, I'd be complaining to someone soon! While the wife and I drove in 100 + temps on I-40, she had to wear a sweater, while I kept having to re-direct the vents for fear of getting frostbite. Just one little discovery though, it seems that if you have both front and back a/c's on at the same time, it doesn't get as cold in the front(hence my frostbite preventative). Also, the rear a/c doesn't work at all if you don't have the front in an a/c setting (just figured that one out while coming back). Has anyone ever noticed this or should I finally read the manual?
As for the mileage, I averaged about 13.9 going (which is mostly uphill once you pass Kingman, AZ) and 15.2 returning. By the way, average of 80mph the whole way back! And I thought it was gonna be expensive on road trips, my 95 4-Runner didn't do much better, and never could hold 80 for too long (and wasn't very comfortable, unlike the D)!
Guess I should quit here, or I may have a whole novel done by bedtime!
P.S. for all you hams, Field Day was great in Flagstaff =:}
