Re: 1998 Durango Knocking Sound

Had that problem with my D. 99 2wd 5.2. I went to the dealer and they told me to switch to a higher octane or switch to either shell or 76 gasoline. I was using mobile before. I was a little reluctant to believe that cause the noise sounded like a mechanical thing, but it worked. I ran premium twice and then switched back to regular at Shell, and everything was good.
