Got a nice little scare tonight...

I met up with Pete (Super D) tonight to let him have a look-see at the lift kit. As we are looking around and under my "D", Pete notices that one of my rear leaf spring through bolts is SNAPPED. Yikes! It looks like they had the lug stud factory make these bolts too! The darned thing was snapped off and the nut was gone. The remainder of the bolt had worked out of the spring and was about an inch from letting go. This, of course would have been a disaster. I really don't know how the lift could have affected this, as they are the OEM bolts and the springs aren't flexed when they are mounted. They simply fit in the hangers with very little effort. Perhaps having removed them and reinstalled them twice was a bad idea? I do know that they were properly torqued to factory specs. Any thoughts? Either way, I plan to order FOUR replacements tomorrow.
Glad to be alive! REALLY glad to meet you Pete! You probably saved my life :)
