I might get some argument here, but I wouldn't recommend a roots-type s/c. I really don't think the D needs more low-RPM power, and being so light in the rear, you'll have a hard time keeping the wheels planted in 2WD. The review I read on the original Shelby D seemed to indicate this very problem. My observations indicate that the D lacks power from 3000 RPMs on up. The pickup on a stock D is very sluggish when you're cruising on the highway and want to punch it. This lead me to believe that the best s/c is a cent.-type that's producing more power in the higher RPMs. Also, the roots-type chargers are prone to more heat in the higher RPMs. I would only suggest a roots-type if towing power is what you're looking for. I would also say that if you could get a roots-type for a reasonable price, so that you're getting a good price/power return, then it may be worth it. However, the Kenne Bell setup seems to be priced the same or higher than the others. Finally, I may be wrong here, but I believe the Kenne Bell only puts out 6psi, and for the same price, the ATI, Vortech, and Paxton are putting out 8psi.
