An idea.. and wheel question

Hey all, been reading all the posts for about 2 weeks now, decided it's about time i posted something myself. i have a Black 5.9 99 D, with WAAG brush guards and tail light gaurds, PIAA lights mounted on the brushguards, and a carbon fiber dash on the interior. I also have upgraded my rims to american racing rims... Well i've had the D for a year now, and i must have seen at least 3 other Ds nearly identical to mine... so i've decided i'm going to put the money into doing somthing a little more original...
Attached is a pic I modified in photoshop (the pic was someones that posted before-of a red r/t) with my idea on what i'm gonna do, Let me know what u think!
Here's my question:
Ok i've decided on the new rims for my D to be Enkei ZXC rims, Now i'm not sure to go with the 18" or the 17" model. I would prefer to go with the 18" version, becuase they have a stonger appearance, but would that intail having a very slim profile tire? I don't praticulary like the looks of extremely slim profile tires, and i would prefer to go with somthing meatier, but would that require me to lift the body of the D? Would that look strange? Thanks alot for any help anyone could give me, i appreciate it.
