during the installs. Sounds like another alarmist story to grab headlines to me.
I am sure most reputable shops use the correct type of urethane but some may skimp. Also, it appears some shops misinform and tell the customer they can drive the car right away, they should allow the stuff to cure overnight.
We use 3M window urethane to fill the voids in our motor mounts in our Turbo cars to stiffen them up. You have inject a little at a time and allow it to cure overnight and repeat the process until the whole cavity is filled.
