I think there's a general problem with the whole tailgate handle/latch

I had a problem and beleive others had too, where the handle on the rear wouldn't open it sometimes, and it would feel weird sometimes when it did or did not. Don't have the alarm myself and haven't noticed what you speak of, but I got the impression it was almost flimsy and that could be part of it
