I don't mean to step on any toes here, no hard feelings and I'm "not" trying to lay out a guilt trip, but consider this. How much would it be worth to you to be able to prevent a major smash up that might cost you $1000s in repair costs, a few weeks or months of lost wages due to injury, or maybe the life of a family member or friend?

I know it's impossible to prepare for everything, something can always blindside you, but I sure do feel better knowing I now have that extra 23 feet of stopping power working for me!

So, for me at least, shelling out for the best brakes available was like buying some insurance against a few of those possible future consequences, and I'm already saving up to buy some of those other things I wanted just as much.
