Many of us (including myself) were surprised with the changes driving a Durango. Consumer Reports almost said ONE THING well, the Durango has a truck frame and drives like it. But unlike CR, I feel the D' handles OUTSTANDING compared to many vehicles even without a steel frame!
Even if the Durango wasn't such a blast to drive, I wouldn't mind the truck-like drawbacks. I needed the towing capacity of a truck, more seating than an Exploder and something smaller than an Explosion...
To get to the point, anyone using 31 inch (or larger) tires on an SUV (or truck) will need alignments more often and have to replace ball joints or bearings well before 100k.
My neighbor has a Yukon with 31x10.50's and started having trouble needing more alignments after changing from those tall narrow tires they come with. The dealer said use narrower tires, get a cement truck or live with it...
Sorry for the soapbox, but we shouldn't knock the Durango for living up to it's niche...
