Thanks. Thats just what I decided to do. Leaving he remote head cable for the Kenwood dual bander as well. New one is only $30 or so and its worth that not to pull the dash, headliner, and overhead console apart again.

Sorry for the delay... been offline for 2 days...

I just leave all the mounts in place, removing the whips, coils and springs etc. Never removed a mount. If the hole is from somethine else, like the power wire from the lightbar, then I just use some black permatex, with a generous amount used inside to make sure the seal is excellent. I smooth over the exposed portion of permatex, so that it extends at lease 1/2 inch beyond the edgeof the hole. Ends up being a small mound, or bump, but smooth, not rough...
