So called "paint chips" on hood are not chips, they are possible defects....

I have been noticing small, white spots (~1/4")on my hood and roof appearing. At first, I just thought they were chips from rocks, but after I couldn't get them to buff out I looked at them closer. It actually looks like the paint is sort of crackling and peeling away from the body. I stopped by the dealer and the body shop guy said this is a known problem with darker colors (mine is CPR) and would be a warranty item - they would repaint the body parts that are affected. I still have to make one more trip to the dealer, because the guy that makes the final decision was on vacation. The body shop guy showed me some very small, grayish looking spots on the paint. He said that is what the bigger spots start as. He said there is no way to buff it out, they will get bigger and bigger. I will let you know what happens. Anyone else with this problem?
