Well folks, I've been pawning over the d for almost 2 years and I bought a '99 (PB) 2wd from K.M. Dodge here in San Diego. I should have walked away. It took 2 days to get the truck transfered from Cal Dodge (less than 35 miles away). When it got there, I had to WAIT to sign the papers on MY (almost)$30K D. Then the salesman was too busy to wait with us until the papers were signed, he had more deals to do. SO, we got the D, I loved it. But less than 1K miles later the air stopped getting cold, so ack I went. It was fixed in less that 1 hour (undercharged). Then at about 2.5K it stopped blowing cold in traffic. Back it went (faulty valve). Then less than 500 miles later it stopped blowing AGAIN, so back I went to J.P. Dodge. While I was there I noticed that the WHOLE REAR HATCH wasn't painted correctly. J.P. took it to the local body shop and they didn't even detrim (take the rubber off) the D. They did a job I expect Earl Schieb to do on MY D. I hit the roof, because of the paint and because they didn't even paint the whole thing, they painted the top part only. Then I took the D BACK to K.M. Dodge when the air stopped again. When I got there it worked, so I was told to leave and return when the dodge rep comes 2 days later. So on the way back home the air stopped for the last time. I went back and explained the situation to the Sales Manager. He was firm, and said he'll trade me D's for another '99, but he'd give me $3.5K less than I paid. So I waited until the Dodge Rep came. He said too bad, I can't give you another D and when you get transfered (to Indiana) in Dec. that Dodge in Indy, might not cover a paint claim, if it arises at a future date. I also found out that the original Dealer had ALREADY repainted my hood, without telling anone. nice, uh? (oh the air had a pinched o-ring, fixed) SO, what should I do?? I don't want a repainted D and I can't afford to take a $3K hit in the wallet. Any and all advise will help. Sorry it was so long.
