AWD vs. 4WD

I thought AWD was in affect all 4 wheels are getting power, maybe 80% rear/20% front or something like that?

And 4WD is actually 1 wheel in front and 1 wheel in back (unless you have posi then 2 in back) have power going to them?

Is this correct, if so what are the 2000 D's AWD or 4WD?
