: I have the Yakima top rack canoe carrier and use straps to attach boat to rack, tow hitch holes to tie rear of boat, but I can't find a good place to hook into the front end under the front bumper to run a line to the front of the boat. Any suggestions where or what to hook into?
I recently bought a kayak and the dealer tied up to the hood hinges. Put a loop of rope through the front of the canoe, open the hood, tie up on end to one hinge, make a loop around the other hinge, close the hood, and tighten that last loop. It worked for me, although next time I will add a pad where the rope and hood contact to reduce any arbrasion. Good Luck.
