Anyone have any luck trying to replace the glass
without having to replace the whole mirror assy?
My drivers side 6x9 mirror is also cracked, and before I shell out 125 dollars to buy the whole unit from the local dealership, I'd like to check out other alternatives. Local glass places I've contacted by phone won't touch it because it's heated. But the glass and the plastic carrier simply pops out of the assembly, and it doesn't seem that it should be impossible to replace the glass. I plan to carrying it into a local glass place to see if they can pop new glass in.
If anyone has done this already, I'd like to hear about it...
