: Folks,

: The plans are now set for the 1st Annual DOC Rocky Mountain Rendezvous! Please visit the website (see link below) to REGISTER NOW. Herman Ascher is working on a very special promotion for the first 25 registrants. Look for his posting shortly.

: We have some tremendous plans in place for the week. There are alternating days of off-roading mixed between trips to local areas of interest. On off-roading days there will be a free shuttle to take non-offroaders from Cascade Village to downtown Durango for shopping and sightseeing. Off-roading is broken into two groups, an easier route group, and more difficult route group. This is an excellent opportunity to get your feet wet on taking your D off-road, or to "push the envelope" a bit for those seasoned veterans (boy do you have 2 "special trails" for you veterans). This is a great opportunity to learn off-roading in a fun-filled group environment. The "easy" group and the "more difficult" group will meet for lunch together each day, allowing for participants to switch groups if they want. If you are not into off-roading, there are a plethora of other activities to pursue. GregZ of Arizona will be hosting an "Easy Off-road/Photo Tour/Hiking Tour" on Wednesday for those inclined.

: There will be vendor displays of parts and accessories in a conference room, allowing you to examine your favorite goodies up close and in person. Many of these goodies will be raffled off at the Friday night lakeside BBQ.

: The Rendezvous is being held at the Cascade Village condominium complex north of Durango, CO. The DOC has negotiated excellent rates for studio and multi-room condo units. Prices start at $48/night. You cannot stay at a nicer facility in the beautiful San Juan mountains for anywhere near these rates on your own (I live here, I know). See the weblink for rates.

: If you are planning on coming, and there are 13 D's signed up now (37 people), please go to the website and follow the directions to REGISTER NOW. If you are contemplating coming, visit the website below and see all there is with the trip. There are photos of the recon weekend, detailed info on Cascade Village (a link to their site too), the Restaurant Menu from Cascade Village, links to local visitor websites, planned event details, maps, and much, much more.

: We have members from Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Montana, Texas and Utah signed up to come. A list of attendees will be added to the website shortly, allowing possibly for caravans to form. Put some FUN into your fall calendar and join us for a great time in the Rockies.

: Please feel free to e-mail me if you have ANY questions.
