You got the better of the situation in the long run. If you hook up an amp to that setup it will be much better than the infinity system would have been. I've got those JBLs hooked up to an Alpine head unit driven by an Infinity Kappa (50W/chX4) amp and this setup literally will pound your brain. The amp barely fit under the passenger seat though. The sound space in the D is wonderful for this combo and the JBLs really sound rich. I've even decided to forego a subwoofer because of the bass response I am already getting is about to unhinge my mirrors. So just upgrade to an external amp in the near future and you'll be happy.
