Any dealer can run a function 14, and using your VIN, miles, and last name, can get list of all options on that vehicle, along with warranty repairs, warranty coverage. Stuff a dealer might want to know if ordering parts, doing service work etc. Some models, it is automatic to check function 14 before ordering parts.
